Under South Dakota state law, the sale of packaged liquor is prohibited on Sunday. Packaged liquor may be sold between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

Packaged beer and wine may be sold between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., any day of the week.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Memorial Day. The sale of packaged liquor is prohibited on Memorial Day.

Christmas. The sale of packaged liquor is prohibited on Christmas Day.

On-premises service of liquor is prohibited on Sunday. Liquor may be served between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

Beer and wine may be served between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., any day of the week.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Memorial Day. On-premises service of liquor is prohibited on Memorial Day.

Christmas. On-premises service of liquor is prohibited on Christmas Day.
