Under Rhode Island state law, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, and between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Extended Summer Hours. Between June 1 and October 31, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold until 11:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

New Year's Day. The sale of packaged alcoholic beverages is prohibited on New Year's Day.

Thanksgiving. The sale of packaged alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Thanksgiving Day.

Night Before Legal Holiday. On the night before any legal holiday, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold until 11:00 p.m. However, when the holiday falls on a Monday, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold until 11:00 p.m. on the Saturday night before the holiday, and until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday night.

On-premises service of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Sunday. Alcoholic beverages may be served between 6:00 a.m. and midnight, Monday through Saturday.

However, the following exceptions apply:

New Year's Day. On-premises service of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on New Year's Day.
