Alcohol laws in Mississippi

This page reflects the default hours of sale under Mississippi state law. The laws in effect in Renova may be more restrictive than what is shown here—especially regarding the hours of sale for packaged beer and wine.

Under Mississippi state law, the sale of packaged liquor is prohibited on Sunday. Packaged liquor may be sold between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Packaged beer and wine may be sold at any time (unless restricted by local ordinance).

However, the following exceptions apply:

Christmas. The sale of packaged liquor is prohibited on Christmas Day.

On-premises service of liquor is prohibited on Sunday. Liquor may be served between 10:00 a.m. and midnight, Monday through Saturday.

Beer and wine may be served between 7:00 a.m. and midnight, any day of the week.

However, the following exceptions apply:

New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve, alcoholic beverages may be served until 1:00 a.m. When New Year's Eve falls on a Sunday, service of alcoholic beverages containing liquor may begin at 1:00 p.m.
