Alcohol laws in Michigan

Under Michigan state law, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., any day of the week.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve, packaged alcoholic beverages may only be sold until 11:59 p.m.

Christmas. On Christmas Day, packaged alcoholic beverages may not be sold before noon.

Alcoholic beverages may be served in bars and restaurants between 7:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., any day of the week.

However, the following exceptions apply:

New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve, alcoholic beverages may be served until 4:00 a.m.

Christmas Eve. On Christmas Eve, alcoholic beverages may only be served until 9:30 p.m.

Christmas. On-premises service of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on Christmas Day.
