Under Maine state law, packaged liquor may be sold between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, and between 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

Packaged beer and wine may be sold between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, and between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

However, the following exceptions apply:

New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve, packaged beer and wine may be sold until 2:00 a.m.

St. Patrick's Day. When St. Patrick's Day falls on a Sunday, packaged beer and wine may be sold beginning at 6:00 a.m.

Alcoholic beverages may be served in bars and restaurants between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, and between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

However, the following exceptions apply:

New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve, alcoholic beverages may be served until 2:00 a.m.

St. Patrick's Day. When St. Patrick's Day falls on a Sunday, alcoholic beverages may be served beginning at 6:00 a.m.
