In unincorporated areas in Lake County, Illinois, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold between 6:00 a.m. and midnight, any day of the week.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Gas Stations. At gas stations, packaged alcoholic beverages may only be sold until 10:00 p.m.

Alcoholic beverages may be served in bars and restaurants between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and between 5:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., Friday and Saturday.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Holidays. Alcoholic beverages may be served until 2:00 a.m. on the following nights:
  • New Year's Eve
  • The Sunday before Memorial Day
  • July 3
  • The Sunday before Labor Day
