In Alton, a city in Madison County, Illinois, packaged alcoholic beverages may be sold between noon and 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, and between 6:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m., Monday through Saturday.

Alcoholic beverages may be served in bars and restaurants at the following times:

• Sunday: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• Monday: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• Tuesday: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• Wednesday: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• Thursday: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.
• Friday: 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.
• Saturday: 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m.

However, the following exceptions apply:

Extended Hours. Businesses may not serve alcoholic beverages later than 1:00 a.m. without first obtaining an extended hours permit from the city. (The table above reflects the hours of sale that apply to businesses that have obtained this permit.)

Argosy Casino. At Argosy Casino, alcoholic beverages may be served at any time.

New Year's Eve. On New Year's Eve, alcoholic beverages may be served until 3:00 a.m.
